St. Louis Art Galleries

LOM Staff Reports

St. Louis is home to two internationally respected art houses, the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts and the
Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, that put the Gateway City on the map as one of the go-to Midwestern cities for quality contemporary art.  This article will look into five other locations that expand the vocabulary of contemporary art in our region by adding local flavors and up-to-date trends.

2222 Art Gallery and Studio
Located in the McKinley Heights district, 2222 is both the address on South Jefferson Avenue and the namesake of this studio that doesn’t pretend to be what it is not.  Expect more of a pop art workshop than a stuffy art gallery.  This studio is focused on social expression with vivid spray paint murals and repeating pattern pants, jackets and hoodies.  The branding is instantly recognizable:  the eyez are all on you!
