Radio Buzzkills - Playing Pop-Punk That You Know and Love

Raucous owners of stage, high energy entertainment and hardcore pop punk, St. Louis based Radio Buzzkills plays the kind of 90s pop punk you know and love. Their current line- up could be the greatest pop punk band you’ve yet to hear, with a sound that blends the best elements of the Ramones and Screeching Weasel, with bassist Jen’s backing vocals lending sound that’s influenced the Teen Idols only harder. Formed in 2016 by front man Zac Buzzkill, the band drew on a shared love of Screeching Weasel for their earliest compositions. That same year, a DIY EP release “The Quick and The Cheap” was well received by the punk underground and quickly became the best-selling release in the history of the Braindead Records label.

Their “Can’t Be Killed” EP followed at the beginning of 2017, which saw the band trading in fun songs about zombies for angry messages directed at Donald Trump. The success of the EP led to the band signing with Glendale, CA. label Outloud Records also hometo Latte+, Horror Punks, The Moans and The Prozacs –as well as playing a one-off show as The Twenty-Sevens with Screeching Weasel co-founder John ‘Jughead’ Pierson.

The Buzzkills also signed with independent label Milksop Records specifically for vinyl releases, which quickly yielded the release of the ‘Hi-Sci Fidelity’ 7”.

In 2018 the band has been scaling to higher heights, with their “Get Fired!” full length earning a place among the year’s most essential releases. At the time of release, realgonerocks.com called the record “a throwback to when pop punk was great” as well as claiming the Buzzkills were now “ready to mark their place within the pantheon of great pop punk acts.” Described in a nutshell these guys are about fun, good music, high octane entertainment and giving the crowd an experience to go home with. Never leaving the crowd without a full lathered sense of having “come” to a drenching hot St. Louis punk rock show.
